"Siren Song"

Description
Siren Song

In mythology, the mermaid is a beautiful but selfish creature who uses her charms to lure the unsuspecting seafarer to his doom. In this piece, she uses a flute found in a shipwreck left behind by men, which symbolizes the way we can unknowingly participate in our own undoing through carelessness. Psychologically speaking, this is a seductive aspect of the deep unconscious mind that appears to fulfill a desire, but is actually quite destructive. Beware the falsely flattering song of the siren (ego).
